GRAVE SPACES
What should I consider before purchasing a grave space?
The cost of a grave space can vary depending on the location in the cemetery. Also, some sections have specific rules about the type of monument or marker permitted. Depending on the area, you may be limited to an upright monument, a slant marker, or a flat marker.
Do you require a burial vault?
Yes, a vault to hold the casket is required. The vault helps protect the casket from damage by the weight of equipment that may pass over to reach other graves as well as preventing the earth to settle over the grave. This prevention adds to the aesthetically pleasing grounds of St. Trinity Cemetery.
What does “Endowed Care” cemetery mean?
Endowed Care means that a portion of the funds collected from the sale of each grave space is directed to a fund specifically designed for the ongoing or perpetual care of the cemetery.
What is a “Columbarium”?
A columbarium consists of many small compartments, called niches, which are designed to hold urns or other small containers of cremated remains.
How can I locate someone buried at St. Trinity Cemetery?
To locate a grave space, please send an email to Info@sttrinitycemetery.com with as much information as possible – first and last name, approximate date of death or burial, if known.
FLOWERS & DECORATIONS
Why doesn’t St. Trinity Cemetery allow grave mats at Christmas?
Due to safety and maintenance concerns, grave mats/blankets are not allowed. Typically, mats/blankets are made of evergreen boughs and sometimes include ribbon, ornaments, or other adornments, all wired together. Wire breaks down, animals explore the mat, dragging away boughs and the adornments which break down along the way. This is a safety issue for staff and visitors as well as a maintenance issue with remnants getting caught in equipment.
MONUMENTS
Do you sell monuments and grave markers?
We do not sell monuments and grave markers. Families are free to use any monument company of their choosing. However, we can provide the names of monument companies used by many of our families.
I want to order a monument for my loved ones grave. Does St. Trinity Cemetery require a foundation?
Yes, a foundation is required to be poured prior to the monument being placed. The monument company of your choice will contact St. Trinity Cemetery to discuss the pouring of a foundation.
Do you clean monuments or markers, and if not, how can I clean loved ones monument or markers?
As is true of most cemeteries, we do not clean monuments or markers as the monument or marker is owned by the family. It is best to consult the monument company for guidance in maintaining the monument or marker. However, in general, a diluted pH-neutral or mild dish soap should be used scrubbing gently with a soft brush or sponge paying attention to engraved letters and crevices.
